What to expect at Your Engagement Session.
During your wedding planning, booking an engagement session might seem like another thing to do, but they’re actually very valuable and worth explaining to all brides-to-be. The experience and the beautiful photos produced are wort considering for any bride-to-be.
A wedding engagement session is all about celebrating your relationship. In making the decision to spend the rest of your lives together, you’re on the road to becoming one. During the session you’ll have the chance to retell your love story and create your own unique illustration of love between both of you.
The session takes 1 -2 hours, and a lot of my couples dress up for this occasion. The end result of the session is a set of high-quality images that really depict who you are as a couple.
Choosing a Location for your Engagement Session.
Choosing your location can mean a lot to you. It may be a place that is particularly special to you. It may be where you had your first date or he proposed to you.
If you are unsure, then it is my job to help you decide where you want your photo shoot to take place.
What to Wear for Your Engagement Session.
I think this is very important. It is also necessary that your outfit reflects who you are at your best!I will advise to wear clothes that are comfortable and allow you to move comfortably since we would be walking around. You should also keep the weather in mind when preparing your outfit.
Having 2 outfits would be ideal (you can have 3) – one with a long and/or flowing gown / dress and another with a casual look.
Get Dressed Up for Your Engagement Session.
Taking advantage of the celebration of the beginning of your lives together is the perfect excuse to wear your favourite boutique dress and to wear those shoes you really like.
Would suggest bringing a pair of flats so you can walk around easily from one location to the next. In my style of photography, primary colours play a huge role. A touch of red, yellow, green, or blue can add a pop to any outfit. But don’t be afraid to go for pastels or neutrals as well.
Don’t forget your accessories – necklace, earrings, a set of bracelets, a scarf, or some trendy layers that make you look just a little more stylish. And guys can (and should) accessorise too!
I would suggest bringing the bare minimum so that we can walk around & capture images on the move.
Being Confident During Your Engagement Session.
Confidence is everything in photographs. What you choose to wear should be something you feel comfortable and fabulous in. Let’s face it, when you dress well you tend to feel better and walk with confidence. So choose an outfit that compliments your physical features, your individuality, allows you to move and also makes you feel AMAZING!
For most couples, engagement sessions are fun because you get to be yourselves. Don’t worry too much about your poses, as a photographer it’s my job to help you with that.
Makeup Trials for Your Engagement Session.
I often recommend scheduling the make up trial with your makeup artist on the same day as the engagement shoot – getting your makeup done also makes you feel a little more ready to work it for the camera.
The camera loves eyes that pop, so feel free to give your lashes, brows, and eye make up a little extra attention before the session. Don’t forget to wear nail polish or if you prefer bare nails and you’re worried about your nails during ring shots, consider treating yourself to a manicure.
